"The question is not, can they
reason, nor can they talk, but can they suffer?" -- Jeremy Bentham
This year millions of laboratory animals in the United States alone will die as a result of product testing, and yet, by the time this year is over, over half of these same products will have been pulled from the shelves because they are too dangerous for humans. Vivisection and animal testing, once though to be essential to ensuring product safety, are shown as morally wrong, unnecessary, and incredibly inaccurate in light of a growing list of alternatives such as cell and tissue cultures, in-vitro methods, and human volunteers.
